ANSI X12 5010A1 and ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS
Cirius Group tested and certified for 5010A1 transactions at EDIFECS
The official rules and formal federal regulations adopting the updated HIPAA transactions and code sets were published January 16, 2009 in the Federal Register.
- Compliance date for the new ANSI X12 transactions (5010) is 01/01/2012
- Compliance date for using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS is 10/01/2013
Effective March 17, 2009, through December 31, 2011, both the version 4010A1 guides and version 5010 guides are designated as the HIPAA standard.
Support for the transition from the ANSI X12 version 4010A01 to version 5010A1 is very important to Cirius Group and to you our customer. Not only does the version 5010 support the use of ICD-10 codes sets, version 5010A1 will simplify payment information transmission between providers, payers, and clearinghouses moving healthcare providers nationwide toward a more efficient and globally accessible data, and quality focused healthcare systems.
